In 1913 the National Council of Congregational Churches adopted a new constitution. The preamble of this new constitution contained a new statement of faith. Adopted with the new Constitution, this new doctrinal statement became known as the “Kansas City Statement of Faith.” This new Statement was short enough to be used in worship, and was included with other Affirmations of Faith in the Pilgrim Hymnal of 1958.
